Baby Spice Emma Bunton says she will have to watch her step - as she is terrified of falling over live on primetime TV hosting her new show Don’t Stop Believin’.
The talent show on Five will be her first stab at fronting a live programme. She fears she might lose her footing and take a tumble.
Emma, 34, told TV Biz: “The main thing that I worry about is falling over, or tripping over the dress. I’m such a klutz - and I always wear very high heels. If something goes wrong, I want to be comfortable enough that I can go with it and laugh it off. It’s always good to have nerves, it gives you adrenaline. I’m going to have a ball. It’s going to be like a night out for me - I’ll have my gladrags on and watch some great performances. It’ll be fantastic.”
Don’t Stop Believin’ will search for Britain’s best singing and dancing group. Every week viewers will be able to vote for their favourites.
Former Spice Girl Emma will be joined by judges ex-EastEnders actress Tamzin Outhwaite, Blue star Duncan James, singer Anastacia and Emmy-winning choreographer Charles “Chucky” Klapow on the show.
Emma said the contest won’t feature excruciating auditions from tone deaf deluded wannabes - like The X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent.
She said: “It’s an entirely different show. It’s much more of a feel-good show.” And the mum, who has a two-year-old son Beau, says she’d love to have her pal Louie Spence on board. Talking about the Pineapple Dance Studios star, she said: “It would be fun to have him involved.
“This would be ideal for him but he’s so busy right now. Louie is definitely coming to the show. He’s asked me to keep a ticket for him each week.”
Emma also hopes some of her Spice Girl pals will pop in to watch the show. She said: “I haven’t asked any of them yet. Generally we like to hang out with the kids and do more private stuff but we’ll see.”
Emma revealed she has a dress from Victoria Beckham’s range. She said: “I wore one of Victoria’s dresses to the Sex and the City 2 premiere and it was so comfortable and cool. I might wear that for one of the shows.”
Don’t Stop Believin’ starts on Sunday July 18 at 7pm.
