David Tipped for New Year Knighthood

Buckingham Palace is reportedly 'under pressure' to honour David Beckham with a knighthood in the New Year Honours List.

The footballer, who won the Lifetime Achievement award at the BBC Sports Personality of the Year awards over the weekend, received an OBE in 2003. The Daily Star reports that bookies have now cut the odds on Beckham being honoured.

"We'll be crying bigger tears than Beckham did in Birmingham when he is knighted," a spokesman for Ladbrokes said. "It's starting to look a certainty, and the only question now is when."

Prince William appeared in a VT to praise the 35-year-old as he received his award at the BBC ceremony on Sunday.

"His contribution to football is exceptional," he said. "He is an example to young footballers of how to play the game with skill, integrity and determination."

Simon Cowell is also among those tipped to make the list when it is announced on December 31.

The Beckhams Blings Up Their Gifts

Victoria and David Beckham are treating each other to a glittering array of pimped-up Christmas prezzies. The loved-up pair splashed out on the goodies during a shopping spree at Harrods.

Their luxury gifts include customised crystal-studded and gold-plated gadgets.

Victoria, 36, is in for a sparkling Christmas after picking out a white crystal iPad cover for £800 from the CrystalRoc range.

Becks, 35, pushed the boat out, too, by asking for a £1,500 pair of gold-plated headphones to be made in time for December 25.

And they ensured they had a spare stocking-filler for their boys by choosing a set of Dr Dre headphones, studded with black hematite crystals. Designers are now working round the clock to make sure they get the personalised bling ready in time.

A source said: “David and Victoria like to do things in style so these presents are perfect for them. They already have everything money can buy so wanted to indulge in something a bit different this Christmas.”

CrystalRoc owner Jonathan Bullas has told how sales have doubled this Christmas as celebrities go crazy for crystals.

He said: “We’ve been going for five years and this has been our busiest Christmas yet. We have a lot of interest from footballers. The Beckhams are typical of the kind of clients who go for our high-end stock.”

The Beckhams to be invited to Prince William's wedding

Prince William is to invite the Beckhams to his wedding to Kate Middleton, the Sunday Mirror can reveal.

Wills struck up a close bond with David Beckham when they teamed up to lead England’s bid to host football’s 2018 World Cup.

The former England skipper and his wife Victoria were among the first to congratulate the royal couple on their engagement last week.
“David texted Wills as soon as he heard, and Wills told him an invite was on its way. David and Victoria were both thrilled and can’t wait,” a Royal source said.

David, 35, and style icon Victoria, 36, will join a select number of A-list celebrities, including Sir Elton John and Sir Paul McCartney, for the ceremony at Westminster Abbey on April 29 next year. President Obama and wife Michelle are also on the guest list, which is expected to be announced at the end of February, when Wills and Kate have received RSVPs.

“They’re thinking carefully about which charities to invite, but they have pretty much decided on the friends they want there. Because they do mix with celebs, there will be quite a few there. It’s the hottest ticket in town. There won’t be many saying ‘sorry, we’re busy that day’.
“The Beckhams sent a card and some flowers, and Victoria is already thinking about dresses.”

Becks meets William – who is President of the Football Association – in Zurich this week to lobby for England’s World Cup campaign.

He will travel without his fiancée Kate in his official FA role, and is seen as a huge asset to the national bid. The friendship between the princes and the Beckhams dates back to 1998, when Prince Charles invited Victoria and the Spice Girls to his Highgrove estate in Gloucestershire for tea as a treat for 13-year-old Prince Harry.

This week Sir Elton said he would “probably” sing at the wedding, reprising his famous performance at Princess Diana’s funeral in 1997.

The Beckhams Do Yoga Classes Together

Ever wondered how the Beckhams manage to stay strong despite every scandal thrown at them? Well, Now can exclusively reveal their secret: couples’ power yoga sessions.

Both David, 35, and Victoria, 36, attend the class at The Sports Club LA in Beverly Hills twice
a week. ‘Victoria and David do power yoga classes for couples for an hour about twice a week,’ an insider tells Now.

‘It’s a very intimate experience. You have to learn to become one entity entirely. You stretch, breathe and move as one – it’s great for couples and is probably better than talking in a way. There’s also meditation and reiki healing involved, which is an ancient hands-on energy technique. They also chant mantras together.’

It’s clearly working a treat because their relationship is stronger than ever. But in the face of adversity, you can always rely on a few sun salutations to keep your spirits alive.

‘They started taking the classes about a year ago and it’s astonishing how in tune with each other they are these days,’ says a close pal.

‘There’s now a huge interest in the classes and that’s down to how good the couple look and how close they seem. ‘People think “Wow!” when they see them and want to be as close to their partner as Victoria is with David.’

As well as yoga, Posh also recently tried cardio sculpting with David. Sounds exhausting but who’d want to disappoint a sweaty Becks, eh, Posh?

David Beckham will Fly to Zurich for Englands WC Bid

According to a report on ESPNsoccernet, David Beckham will fly to Zurich on December 2 for the final presentation of England’s 2018 World Cup bid just hours before the votes will be counted.

After initial optimism that England were sitting in pole position to be awarded the right to host the 2018 World Cup, deep pessimism has now set in that they could finish only third behind the bids of Russia and Spain-Portugal.

The reason for the changed situation is the backlash against investigations into alleged FIFA corruption by the English media.

Beckham will travel from Los Angeles to Australia for a one-match post-season tour with the LA Galaxy before flying back to London for one day to meet up with the FA delegation, and then on to Zurich.

“Yes, I can confirm that David Beckham will be in Zurich, and the FA are calling up all the big guns, such as the Prime Minister, and Prince William is also expected to be there,” an insider was quoted as saying.

The Beckhams Covers 'Hello Magazine'

In a world exclusive joint interview with HELLO! magazine, David and Victoria Beckham have hit back at the critics who questioned their relationship after an escort girl made false claims against them.

“We’re soul mates,” Victoria said. “Sometimes people throw s*** at us but we get through it. You deal with it, or you don’t. You go into a marriage knowing there are going to be ups and downs. We’re in the public eye so we have more to deal with than most. We accepted that years ago. It’s just about us and the family.”

The couple also tell HELLO! how they keep their romance alive.

“We always make time for each other,” David said. “We have a ‘date night’ every Wednesday.” Victoria adds: “We catch up on what we’ve missed on the TV. We watch Keeping up with the Kardashians, and we love Melanie B’s new reality show.”

The Beckhams also talked about how they love their life in their adopted homeland of Los Angeles, and reveal how their three sons, Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz, are settling in – even learning sign language so they can communicate with a deaf friend. However, they immediately ask to be taught some rather inappropriate words! “Of course the first thing Cruz, who is five, wanted to learn was how to say ‘I have wind’ and the ‘s’ word,” Victoria reveals. “He also wanted to know what other swear words were!”

Romeo, meanwhile, has just received his first mobile phone – and has been using it to send messages at inappropriate times.

“We got a message from Tana Ramsay saying ‘We don’t mind but Romeo’s been phoning the house in the middle of the night asking to speak to our kids,” Victoria explains.

In addition, David and Victoria reveal the nicknames they have for their three children and how they tease their dad about his English accent. Victoria also talks about her style icons, and explains how she deals with the celebrity clients who are queuing up to wear her fashion designs.

GQ Personal Style : David Beckham

He is the exception to every rule: the well-dressed, articulate footballer turned ambassador who made LA Galaxy worth watching and emerged unscathed from England's World Cup debacle in South Africa. To mark the release of his new fragrance Initimately Yours For Him, David Beckham exclusively reveals to GQ.com his own sartorial rules, grooming regime and his worst style mistake (and it wasn't a haircut)…

My most important style rule? Be comfortable. But if you're buying a suit, the cut and fit have to be perfect.

I can't remember buying my first aftershave. I used to wear my grandfather's Old Spice.

The first thing I owned that I thought was stylish was the BMW convertible I bought with my first paycheque from Man United.

My post-match regime is shower, moisturize, eat well and sleep a lot.

Since moving to LA, I take more care of my skin. Especially in the sun. I use Dr Lancer sun block.

Is Snoop well-groomed? Most guys like to take care of themselves these days

Every haircut I've had has been good at the time. I feel happy to express myself.

The best restaurant I've ever been to is the original Nobu in LA.

The secret to making a great masculine scent? Subtlety. Your signature scent should be nothing too overpowering, something that suits the occasion

Steve McQueen is my style hero. But Mick Jagger in the Sixties looked very cool.

How do you dress well for a wedding? Good suit, clean shoes.

What's the worst outfit I've ever worn? Matching Gucci leather outfits to a Versace party with my wife - wrong on so many levels!

The most common style mistake men make is wearing the wrong shoes.

There have been a few vain footballers that I've met. But it's not fair to name names…

Every man should have Jay-Z, Dean Martin and Coldplay on his iPod.

Should you let your wife buy your clothes? Why not?

Intimately Yours For Him Beckham is out now. £29 for 50ml

Beckham Boys at the Kinect for Xbox 360

Their father David Beckham is considered one of the world's most handsome men.

And it seems 11-year-old Brooklyn, eight-year-old Romeo, and five-year-old Cruz all take after the famous footballer - judging by their appearance last night.

The Beckham boys were clearly rivalling 35-year-old David in the cuteness stakes as they went on a family outing to an Xbox party in Beverly Hills.

With their trendy T-shirts, brightly coloured bracelets and good looks, the three boys looked very much like they were a chip off the old block.

Romeo, with his beanie hat and white T-shirt, even looked like he was trying to imitate his fashionable father.

The boys were clearly excited as they attended the Kinect for Xbopx 360 launch party, held at a private residence in Beverly Hills and hosted by High School Musical star Ashley Tisdale.

Irma Nici counter-sues David Beckham

Irma Nici has reportedly launched her own lawsuit against David Beckham. The former prostitute had claimed in a US tabloid that Beckham had hired her for sex, leading to him suing her over the allegations.

According to Radar Online, Nici filed a suit in a Los Angeles County Superior Court claiming that she received emotional and physical injuries when she was served with Beckham's court documents.

Paul Rolf Jensen, the attorney representing Nici, said: "California law does not allow public figures like David Beckham to stifle free speech. Maybe he didn't live here in Los Angeles long enough to learn how precious we here consider our rights to tell the truth in print. She was immediately hospitalised as a direct result of this event. Beckham is responsible for his goon's conduct, and we will hold him liable for it."

Victoria 'doesn't notice David's voice'

Victoria Beckham has reportedly claimed that she doesn't notice that her husband David has a "high-pitched" voice. The former Spice Girl also said that she realises how lucky she is to be married to the footballer.

She told Marie Claire: "I don't really notice that he's got a high-pitched voice. I just think he's so goddamn perfect that people have to find something wrong with him."

The 36-year-old added that David constantly looks good.

She explained: "We were about to go out somewhere the other day, and he was sending an email. He was sitting at the end of the bed, and he had no clothes on whatsoever. I was getting out of the shower, and I just stood there looking at him. He was all tan. [He] has all those tattoos - which I love. [He] hadn't done his hair. He just naturally looks good all the time. He never looks like s**t in the morning. Never."

Victoria added: "So he's sitting there sending his emails, all ripped. Not an ounce of fat on him. And I thought, 'You done good, girl'. I sure wasn't thinking of his high-pitched voice."

David Beckham Plays Soccer With His Sons

David Beckham Focused on Galaxy

David Beckham has admitted it is highly unlikely he will play in Europe again this season. The England midfielder has spent two loan spells at AC Milan in the last two years after the end of the Major League Soccer season in the USA.

Beckham, 35, says that it is unlikely he will pursue a similar move this time as he needs to get back to full fitness after his ruptured Achilles. He returned to action earlier this month for his MLS club the Los Angeles Galaxy.

Asked about returning to Europe on loan again, Beckham told FIFA’s website: “I don’t think so. I’ll never say never, but after my injury I need to really focus on getting my full fitness back.

Physically I need to get myself back in order after a very long time out of the game. I can’t say for sure, but I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.”

Beckham still has an eye on forcing his way back into the England squad despite manager Fabio Capello appearing to hint that his international career - where he has won 115 caps - may be over.

“No, I wouldn’t say that,” sad Beckham when asked if football had seen the last of him in an England shirt. “But whether it’s over or not is not really down to me.

“I want to continue to be available to play for England. That’s all I can do. I am passionate about playing for my country and I have been for 15 years now. Ever since I was a little kid all I ever wanted to do was to play for my country. Whether the road is over or not, I don’t really know, but I will continue to work hard to get my fitness right because that’s the important bit at the moment. Once I’ve done that, we’ll know more. I hope England continue to push on and keep bringing young players through; this is an important thing for the future of English football at international level.”

David Beckham is Back In L.A.

Hi everyone

I’m back in LA after to flying to Trinidad over the weekend with the 2018 World Cup bid team – in just 65 days, FIFA will announce who will host the World Cup.

For me it’s all about the legacy of The Bid, I’ve seen first hand the power that football has globally. A World Cup in England would not only benefit our country, we will help implement projects and improve facilities in all the FIFA projects around the world.

I’m glad that my Academy will visit each FIFA Confederation every year, should we win the right to host the World Cup.

Last Friday saw one of the biggest MLS matches in the calendar, we played the New York Red Bulls. While I was happy I got another 90 minutes under my belt, I was disappointed with the result, we lost 2-0. We had plenty of the ball and several good chances, it just wasn’t our day.

We’ve already qualified for the Play-Off Finals, which is great news, so we have to take the positives from Friday and kick on from there…and hopefully go one better than last year!

Take care

David Beckham's Trip To Trinidad and Tobago

David Beckham´s role with the England bid to host the 2018 or 2022 World Cup has been described by the Concacaf president, Jack Warner, as adding “a lot of weight” to the country’s chances of staging the event.

The former England captain brought his star quality and David Beckham Academy to Trinidad and Tobago, coaching about 200 youngsters at Marvin Lee Stadium in Macoya to fulfil a long-standing commitment to Warner.

Beckham’s visit was also about securing Concacaf votes for England’s bid to host its first World Cup since 1966. Warner holds one of the 24 votes on the Fifa executive committee, which will decide the hosts of the two tournaments in December.

“It’s trying to prove that having a World Cup in our country will help not just us but children from different countries around the world,” Beckham said. “It’s all about the lasting legacy we can leave if we’re lucky enough to win the bid.

“[It's been great] having the opportunity of talking with Jack about the bid and our thoughts going into the final stages of the bid. We have to think positive, we have to believe we’re in a good position. But there’s still a lot of hard work to be done and that will continue to be done.”

Warner was circumspect when asked if he would be supporting the bid but says Beckham’s influence is helping England’s chances.

“I’ve said before, if any country can host a World Cup tomorrow, England can,” Warner said. “So it is one of the few countries that is prepared. But we have to meet together as a confederation to make a final decision and we will do that soon.

“He [Beckham] adds a lot of weight and I think that this is a plus for them [England].”

Andy Anson, the chief executive of England’s bid, said Warner’s backing would be a major advantage.

“He’s very important he’s been around the world of Fifa a very long time,” Anson said. “He knows how the bidding process works better than anyone. He gives us fantastic advice and he’s very important for us to have a strong relationship with.

“It’s going well, it’s a tough race, it’s a tough challenge. But we’ve put together what we think is a very strong technical bid. We had a very good inspection visit a few weeks ago and now we’re on the road lobbying.”

Beckham has played two games as a substitute for Los Angeles Galaxy since tearing his left achilles tendon while on loan with Milan in March. He played 20 minutes on 11 September in a 3-1 victory over Columbus, then 37 minutes on 18 September in a 2-1 win over DC United.

The 35-year-old Beckham’s international career appears to be over after the England manager, Fabio Capello, intimated that the midfielder was too old. However, Beckham has not given up hope of returning to the national team.

“I hope I will play for my country again but right now I have to concentrate on my ankle and playing for Galaxy,” he said.

Beckhams tell sons: 'Don't believe lies'

David and Victoria Beckham have reportedly spoken to their sons about recent tabloid stories about David, telling them to ignore the 'lies' in the news.

The couple decided to broach the subject with their sons as they feel that they are old enough to understand what is being reported and don't want them to worry, according to the Sunday Mirror.

A family friend told the newspaper: "The family are showing a totally united front. The kids are smart and they're now at an age where they can understand what's going on and see the front pages of magazines and newspapers. They have been totally honest all the way through. On this occasion they said, 'People have been saying some really mean things about Daddy. Please don't take any notice of them, because they're completely untrue and we know they are not true."

Meanwhile, the News of the World report that the Beckhams have prepared a $25 million lawsuit against Irma Nici, the prostitute who claimed she had sex with David in a New York hotel.
