Becks Takes Secret Van Hols with Posh

David Beckham really is king of the pitch - the camping pitch!

Amazingly, millionaire England star Becks is taking wife Victoria on secret holidays in a camper van to escape the stresses of fame.

Despite their fabulous wealth the couple reckon road trips and evenings under the stars at £60-a-night trailer parks are just the thing to keep the romance alive.

Last night a friend revealed: "It's true. David and Victoria just love getting away in these giant motorhomes. People might find it hard to believe, but it's a simple pleasure they both enjoy enormously. Their lives are so hectic that it's a rare chance to forget about Brand Beckham and concentrate on each other. They just arrange for the kids to be looked after for a few days, hit the road, and get back to nature."

They're in good company - former Foreign Secretary Margaret Beckett, 67, famously jaunts to France in her caravan every year, while Naked Chef Jamie Oliver, 34, has toured Europe in a souped-up 60s-style VW Camper.

Not that anything is that simple for Posh and Becks. Before they slip away from their Los Angeles mansion in the dead of night they send out security teams in decoy vans to throw paparazzi off the scent.

And the couple definitely don't rough it - more trailer cash than trailer trash.

They go for luxury palaces on wheels costing up to £260,000 with swish mod cons like en-suite whirlpool baths and a private cinema!

One of the pair's favourite pull-ups is the private Paradise Cove park on California's Pacific Coast Highway, a setting for Baywatch. Our source added: "No one has cottoned on yet that it's David and Victoria parked up alongside them in the next motorhome. They just keep a low profile, although of course they have security guys lurking nearby."
