David Beckham said after their move to the US that he wanted his sons to retain their English accents, but it looks as though they are becoming more like all-American boys each day.
They have already been spotted taking in the American past-time baseball, learning American football and watching basketball from the front row. And over the weekend David and Victoria's boys looked like any other American children as they held their hands to their hearts and belted out the national anthem.
Both David and Victoria have spoken about their sons' adopting American accents since moving to the States in 2008, but they appear to have differing opinions on the subject.
They sound as if they are from London – and that is how I want them to sound,' David told This Morning shortly after the family's migration to Los Angeles.
'But they are getting little parts of an American accent. Romeo keeps saying "Awesome" a lot. "Awesome, awesome."'
But Victoria doesn't seem to mind: 'They are getting American accents. I think it''s really cute. They love it here,' she has said.
It has been a hellish few weeks for the Beckhams, who have been plagued by one scandal after another.
But the family showed no signs of strain as the boys cheered David on at the LA Galaxy game on Sunday.
Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz were nothing short of ecstatic as they jumped out of their seats and roared their excitement as they watched their father score his first goal of the season.
David joined in his sons' celebrations by sticking his tongue out before being jumped on by team mates.
His cheeky taunt was perhaps aimed at either one of his current nemeses, prostitute Irma Nici or suing divorcĂ© Kambiz Shabani. It emerged over the weekend that Irma Nici is counter-suing Beckham for emotional and physical injuries sustained after officials issued her with a £16 million writ following her claims they slept together.
The 26-year-old hooker's attorney Paul Rolf Jensen says she was hospitalised after officials tracked her down to a New York hotel room to hand her the writ.
He says: ‘Beckham is responsible for his goon’s conduct, and we will hold him liable for it.’ ‘California law does not allow public figures like David Beckham to stifle free speech,' he told Radar Online.
This latest blow in the ongoing saga comes after Beckham was named in another court case that claims he had an affair with a married mother of two Shery Shabani.
The sporting star was forced to deny the allegations of a 'jealous' and delusional' Kambiz Shabani, who Beckham says tried to run him off the road when he believed he was having a fling with his wife. But 35-year-old Beckham put the stress of those scandals out of his mind as he led his team to a 2-1 victory over CD Chivas USA on Sunday.
His wife Victoria was unable to cheer him on at the weekend match, but was spotted making her way through LAX to catch a flight to London.
