Mel B has given the strongest indication yet she will step in to replace pregnant Dannii Minogue on the X Factor judging panel.
The Mail told how X Factor bosses held secret talks with the fiery former Spice Girl in Los Angeles last month.
And the 34-year-old singer has let slip in a new interview: 'I can't really talk about that because I don't think it's my place to, but I'm sure some announcement's going to happen at some point and then we'll all know!’
The mother-of-two is being lined up as one of a string of celebrity judges to fill in for Miss Minogue, 38, who is due to give birth to her first child in July – back home in Melbourne, Australia.
Simon Cowell, Cheryl Cole and Louis Walsh will reunite at the X Factor auditions next month – and could be joined by up to three celebrity judges.
Mel B told New! magazine how she loved her feisty image, saying: ’I'll always be Scary Spice! It's where I come from, that's me, that's how I got started in the entertainment world. I have a big respect for that title. I'm proud of it. And it means I get to scare people whenever I want.’
She also revealed how all of the Spice Girls are keen to have more children following on from rumours that Victoria and David Beckham are trying for a fourth child.
Mel, who has an 11-year-old daughter called Phoenix Chi by her first husband Jimmy Gulzar, and three-year-old Angel, by comedian Eddie Murphy, is now happily married to Stephen Belafonte.
When asked about extending her family, she said: ‘Yeah, most definitely! All us girls were talking about it and I'm definitely on track to have more kids, whether it's this year or next year. I've got two great daughters and a beautiful stepdaughter [Giselle]. I love family.’
